Projects - Wind Set Thermal Anemometer

Wind Set Thermal Anemometer

AeroTech's Wind Set thermal anemometer uses two pairs of stainless steel protected electrically self-heated platinum wire sensing elements to sense both wind directions components and wind speed. The heating of the elements guarantees ice-free operation. The element pairs are perpendicular to each other, directly exposed to the airflow across the Wind Set. Wind speed is a measure of element heating lost to local airflow and has greatest sensitivity at low speeds. North-South and East-West wind direction components are provided.

Applications

•  Wind speed and direction measurements

•  Turbine control

•  Meteorological studies

•  Highway wind condition monitoring

•  Air or water operation
