Problem:
AeroTech needed to assess the performance requirements,
capabilities, and use of its Turbulence Auto-PIREP System
(TAPS) in a multi-aircraft operationally representative
environment.
Approach:
AeroTech combined aircraft simulations, weather models,
system algorithms, and logic into a real-time multi-element
simulation for system refinement and assessment.
Results:
A versatile development tool (TAPOS)
was developed that can be used for system development, flight
crew assessments, system requirements, and cost estimation.
Training applications are being investigated.
